Today marks the start of Fashion Week here in NYC. For those of you who don’t live and breathe fashion, this is a semiannual event where designers premiere their new collections to the editors, buyers, bloggers, and anyone else who can score an invite. It’s always a season ahead, so this week will be showcasing spring/summer 2012 collections. In the past few years, the event has become less industry-specific and more commoner-friendly. Not only are images available minutes after the models walk the runway, but several designers now live stream their shows for everyone to see.
I will be attending a few shows throughout the week, and will let you know what catches my eye. In the meantime, though, you can keep track of the schedule at mbfashionweek.com, or tune into shows from your desk chair on YouTube or firstcomesfashion.com.
I’m watching Nicholas K. right now. In my sweatpants.
